msn messenger wont allow me to sign on with .mac address
does anyone else sign into msn using a .mac email address,
today it said i needed to change my account because they have updated their servers
http://support.microsoft.com/gp/Messenger
this page, so after much messing about decided to change to a different alias, but this one wouldnt work either i have come to realise it just wont let you on if you have a .mac account or thats how i understand it,
anyone else having same problem?
ive found even if i make something up like [email protected] with password as say password
it comes up with the same error saying you need to change your email
is this discrimination against mac users?!

Officials told MacNN on Friday that it recently became aware of an "internal error during routine testing that resulted in customers using .Mac domains being asked to change their e-mail address in order to access to their Windows Live IDs."
"A Windows Live ID is the sign-in and password that customers use to access Windows Live Messenger, Hotmail and other Microsoft online services," the company said in a statement. "Access to Live IDs has been restored to our customers who use .Mac domains. We regret any inconvenience this caused for our customers."
The service blockage appeared to be directly linked to Mac owners, as users with accounts from the likes of Gmail indicated no disruptions.
