Funky problem with new LCD and G5

I just bought a Planar px2411w monitor for my powermac g5.

The problem is that my desktop will stretch a millimeter or two down when the mouse moves to the top half of the screen. When the mouse moves past the middle to the left or right the whole desktop shifts by a couple of millimeters. Part of the screen is in focus, and then when the desktop shifts another part of the screen comes into focus.

I have the resolution set to 1920x1200 (the monitor's native resolution). The monitor has both VGA and DVI ports and I have tried using both with the same results. Additionally, I have tried using both monitor ports on my Mac with the same results.

Then I tried a friend's NEC 1770v with an VGA cable at that monitor's native resolution and got the same results.

I had been using a Viewsonic CRT without problems for a couple of years.

I am not terribly tech savvy (or rich for that matter) so I hope there is something simple I have overlooked.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
