Mounting FTP shares in Mac OS X problems...

Hi everyone,

Basically my problem is that when I mount an FTP server as a drive through Mac OS X, I connect fine and everything however I cannot put files on the share, nor changes names of any of that. I can only browse files and copy them to my desktop. Something changed this as it worked in the past for me just fine. Anyone have a clue as to where I can fix this? I desperately need this as I hate having to use a seperate FTP program for so much crap.

More info: This applies to any kind of FTP server as well. I've tried Windows/linux servers and no luck.

Thanks in advance.

OS X FTP in the finder has always been read-only. You will need some form of 3rd party FTP app.

Right. Transmit, Fetch, and many others are good. Check VersionTracker.

Or you can just use Terminal. Type man ftp for the manual.

Finder has never had write ability to FTP. Leopard has it.

Maybe you are thinking of dot-Mac, or http based uploads.
