Automatic restart?
I was updating to 10.1.1 and near the end it automatically restarted, but didn't boot up again. My monitor's led simply blinked red and green; not sure what that blinking means, but it's not 'no input signal'. The restart didn't seem to be 'proper', as in it didn't shutdown macosx first.
The same thing happened a few minutes later when I was installing the developer tools. It was on the 'cleaning up' item and the progress bar had almost reached the end. It suddenly restarted and the same thing as above happened. I did a cold boot and MacOS X was up and running again. According to the pdf on the developer tools cd it's not supposed to restart automatically, you have to do it yourself? Not to mention that there was another item ('finish up') left after 'cleaning up'.
Any ideas?
Is there any indication when starting up MacOS X that it was previously not shutdown properly? (windows runs scandisk, linux runs fsck, etc)
I have a PowerMac G4 867MHz.
PS: I've already run the apple hardware test cd and my system passed on all tests.
