Anyone know when it will be available for those of us who don't plan to buy Office X?

I'd like to know this also. Or, would one of you people with an extra $400 for office post WMP to their iDisk or something for us poor folk?

Because I am a nice guy I posted it to my server. My iDisk was full, so I put it on my mandrake box.

I'm on cable, so it may not be the fastest...but spread the word while it's still up, and e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions.

Thanks Robert. Accessing the site was slow now. I'll try again later.

I'm sorry for the slow speeds. I'm running far to many servers on my shitty cable connection.

Don't worry about the slow speeds. It's faster than it would take me to buy Office. I really should pay you or something, but if I had money I'd be able to buy it myself!

WMP.. yet another sucky product that MS threw together. This is even worse than QT for WIndows.

What's so sucky about it? Works fine for me. Use it mainly for WebRadio and works without a hich. May put it on my iDisk later today

I haven't seen anything really bad about it. Yet.

It's not even fully backward compatible.

IT is missing some old codecs that was in 7.x

I suspect it's missing WMA too, but can't figure that out as of yet.

Working fine! You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar (or a reasonable facsimile thereof).

Having trouble installing. Downloads OK, I get the installer, run it, enter admin password, then ..... nothing. It just seems to quit when authenticating installer.

    Any ideas?

    Simon.

Whats wrong with QT for Windoze? I was actually impressed by the improvements from version 4 to 5. I only know this because I am forced to use Wintels in my crappy school computer lab.

I must say that this OS X version of WMP is pretty bad. It's just as poorly threaded as the old version (menus stop playback, moving the window stops playback, etc.). Plus, the skinning can be very buggy when you try changing certain settings with a movie open.

The only "improvement" is that it's a native version so it has the memory and multitasking provided by OSX.

I'm not surprised they haven't made this public, but I just wonder if it'll be any better by the time it is.
