Spell Check is broken in Leopard :(

It's not checking while I type nor will any other of the spell checking function work at all. What the heck?

    Type in 'spellcheck' in the finder help box and you'll get your question answered.

    I do have "Check Spelling as you type" but it still doesnt work!

    Does it work in any applications? Some third party software does not work with the built-in checker.

    I have a question about spell check too. The language I installed on my Mac was English, but I want the spell to be another language, for instant, Norwegian. Is it possible to change this setting? Thanks in advance.
