G5 and Leopard woes

I upgraded to Leopard recently and all went well for a while until my Mac stopped starting up! It would power up, then at the grey screen with spinning whotsit it would power down instead of proceeding. Is this a hard ware issue, or something to do with the software? I can start up from the DVD - sometimes - and always from the eDrive installed using Techtool I have tried archive and install, I have experienced the dreaded blue screen of death, but I do not have AppEnhancer installed and have read every thread in existence about Leopard uogarde issues.

Can anyone help?
