Is there any smart card reader that work 100% under OS X 10.1.2?

Well, the ZiO worked for a little bit, but then Apple broke the drivers with 10.1.2. Maybe sometime it will be re-supported. At least Microtech is trying, I guess...

My SanDisk reader worked out of the box without drives but 10.1.2 broke that as well.

I read something about replacing a.kext file with one from 10.1 fixes this problem.

Funny Apple releases iPhoto and we can't use a Flash card reader.. Bahahaha. This is holding me back from converting to of my 10 users I bet the smart card readers will not work through compat mode.

I use a SanDisk Imagemate CompactFlash reader in OS 10.1.2 and it works fine (no driver to install, either).

The same reader is available for SmartCard and it is supposed to be supported as well.

Mine is a smartcard reader. Why the difference between compactflash and smartcards not working? They are both sand disk readers
