Tergat MySQL Studio- try it?

recently, I am looking for an easy-to-use and powerful MySQL database server management and monitoring tool for Mac OSX.Luckily, I found one which called Tergat MySQL Studio, which seems to be a professional tool that is not too expensive.

The web site of the studio is <a href="http://www.mysqlstudio.com/mac_overview.php3"; target="_blank">http://www.mysqlstudio.com/mac_overview.php3</a>; . I think the mentioned features are quite comprehensive and cover what I needs. Before I buy this product, I would like to know anyone has tried this program before? Please write me some comment, so that i can decide whether to buy it or not.

I'm not sure exactly what your needs are, but I find that phpmyadmin works perfectly well for management and monitoring for me. Have you tried it? And it's free.

    I just downloaded the demo...

This seems to be an extremely well written OS X app.

    Good Stuff:

It's cool that it includes a current mySQL installer/updater. (I didn't need to use it)

    System log viewer is nice.

NaviCat Config Editor lets you view and edit httpd.conf (You can add any other System config files, as well)

    Not so good:

SQL Console is limited: No built-in query "builder"... you need to know what you're doing. (But I use JaneBuilder for that, anyway.)

I had trouble with the "Run Backup" utility.

I haven't figured out how to create dumps yet.

No help files-- Scant on-line documentation for Mac version

I use phpMyAdmin, but I might have to check this out some more. So far, I think 65 bucks seem reasonable for what it does.

phpMyAdmin has a VERY good track record. You should also learn the CLU for MySQL. I know it can be cumbersome at times but it gives you a much better understanding of MySQL as well.

edit: It might help if I would have read your last paragraph
