Check out the National Anthem before the Sugar Bowl tonight
One of my favorite bands from New Orleans, Bonerama, opened their New Years Eve show in South Florida last night with the National Anthem.
I had never heard them play it before, and it was really quite impressive.
Sort of a brass band version meets Hendrix version.... Very funky and soulful, yet respectful and patriotic - it was the PERFECT New Orleans instrumental rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.
Members of the band told me later that they would be playing it tonight, before the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
Check it out - you won't be sorry you did.
