i hear of people playing freeciv (freeciv.org) on xfree86, under os x, i installed 4.2.0 xfree86 and i downloaded freeciv for ppc... but its a .rpm... i went to download rpm, rpm itself comes in .rpm files... it also comes in tar balls but i am unsure of how to compile it, help would be appreciated! step by step, or at least every other step, i'm willing to work at it but i'm having probs, although i must admit command line is fun

There is a package for freeciv in fink's ports.

    [alexander:~] ndptal85% fink list | grep freeciv

    freeciv 1.12.0-4 Multiplayer Strategy Game

So install fink then enter "fink install freeciv" to install it. You can get fink from fink.sourceforge.net

P.S. Since you installed xfree86 on your own you'll have to tell fink that by installing the "system-xfree86" placeholder package as soon as you install fink.
