Creative Xdock HD
At CES 2008, Creative has announced a gizmo that claims to upconvert iPod video to HDTV 1080p for use on your hi-def TV.
Could this actually produce real high-quality video? If it did, could a new AppleTV use similar technology (maybe via a dongle on the unused USB port for older units) to convert overnight all of your downloaded iTMS movies to hi-def?
And it wouldn't take hours or days to download the hi-def versions--just a smaller file that was up-rezzed locally.
One other company announced a similar product but I forgot the name...
