Mac won't start

I recently added memory to my 800 mgz powermac desktop. I've done this many times without problems. On this occasion I do believe I touched the metal plate to ground it until after I unplugged the computer. Now when I try to start it the light goes on for a second or two. I hear the fan or hard drive try and start up. Then it just shuts down. I tried resetting the PSU button I believe it's called and took out and put back the battery. I also tried switching out the ram a few times but nothings working. Any suggestions other than I'm a dumb ass?
