Got my MacPro but a problem...

I am running a Dell 30" 3007WFP HC but am running into problems. I have the Nvidia 8800GT and color is distorted with static and waves if I'm running 2560x1600.
I can only run 1280x800 with distortion. any ideas?

problem solved. it was a faulty dvi cable.
