Wireless Keyboard problems

Well today i went into scotsys to buy the apple wireless keyboard and mouse. got them fine but when i got home and connected them up only the mouse will work! I have gone into system preferences and set the keyboard up and its says it is working fine, but when i go to type they do not appear on the screen! The F keys work and i can use spaces with the ctrl and arrow keys
Don't know what happening!

Update: I have manage to resolve the issue, i had sticky keys on :$
