Limitations of the ATT contract on Apple iPhone?

Searching did not yield any good results on the issue. What are the limitations of the ATT contract on global launches? Is Apple free to launch with any carrier in any other country outside the U.S. under the terms of the ATT contract?



Also what does people feel about iPhone's launch in the EMEA region? What's stopping Apple? Any possibility of the China Mobile talks being reinitiated?

    Those that know aren't talking. And those that are talking don't know.



    My suspicion is that the Apple/ATT contract states that Apple can't sell an unlocked iPhone. But as I am talking I don't know.



    This may be what is killing the China Mobile talks. From statements made on these forums, a locked iPhone is a non starter in China.
