New to Macs. Have WMP question.

I have had my macbook for less than a week and I would like to play files from my old computer that are in WMP format. I tried to download the player for mac from Microsoft but it just came up as a text doc. I have done a search and it looks like flip4mac could be a solution but I am looking for something free. Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Joe

The player is free but if you want to import wmv files into QuickTime to edit or convert then you will have to buy the version that meets your needs. You will have to go to each version's product page to get specifics about what they can do. I am using Flip4Mac version 1.02 and it plays wmv files better than Window Media Player did. As soon as I purchased my copy I immediately deleted WMP from my iBook.
