apple warranty

I bought my first mac (macbook) around mid january 08. Since then it worked fine for about 2 or 3 weeks.

Does Apple have a lemon warranty?

It's very frustrating because since I bought the macbook, I have really used it and I need a computer, since I bought it, the macbook are now cheaper and more powerful.

Is there anything I can do about it??

I'm really tired. It's my first mac (probably my last one)

Thank you

Without at least some clues as to the problems you are experiencing I doubt anybody will be able to offer any advice.

But if it's "broken" then bring it back, it's still under warranty

We brought it back 3 times already they haven't found the problem yet.

It's true that I haven't told what the problem is....

19 days after we bought it the computer wouldn't start. Nothing, no hard drive, no error message, nothing.

After calling apple we be bring it to an autorize apple service center. They look at it, it didn't start.

When the tech tried to fix it, the computer start well. They tried to start it a few times, no problems. At first they wanted to charge us for the repair since the computer start well and they couldn't charge apple since nothing as been found.

But they didn't charge us, we had to talk pretty loud though!

We came back home a few days later same problem.

We bring it again, they try the computer again, it didn't start. They keep it for 3 weeks before calling us. The computer start well again when the tech try it!

Now again they want to give it back to us...

I said fix the problem and then give it back to me. Again, after a few phone calls and I had the raise the voice a little they will change the mother board. I don't know why the mother board I would have changed the pmu....

The 2 times the computer didn't start we closed it while it was on the battery.

Anyway, that's my story for now. They still have it, I don't know for how long....

Will it change anything if I call apple?

It's worth a shot, maybe bring to an Apple Store and demand a replacement or refund

Yes, call the toll free number for support in Canada. I think it's the same agents that cover the US as well. They will either fix or replace it, no problems. You will not be charged either, unless it was dropped or neglect.

3 issues in a year will get you a new system. As long as the support center recorded them tho...

I bought Applecare, after 2.5 years of trouble with my 15" Powerbook, I got my MBP as a replacement. I wouldn't have stayed on with Macs if I had to replace it.

Be pleasant on the phone, but not a push over. Asked to speak to a specialist that deals with troublesome systems if you are not getting anywhere.
