I am using Safari on Mac and PC and I was trying to open the "new" Hotmail web based email to see what is Microsoft up to lately...

Well, I had a small surprise by getting the following error message:

Sign in to Hotmail

Windows Live ID is unavailable from this site for one of the following reasons:

This site may be experiencing a problem.

The site may not be a member of Windows Live ID.

You can:

You can sign in or sign up at other Windows Live ID sites and services, or try again later at this site.

Opening the same website with Firefox for both Mac & PC works just fine...

Can this be the way that Microsoft is fighting back Apple's Software Update???

I remember back in the 90's I had an error message from Windows which stated that QuickTime for Windows has some errors, which was bullocks. It was a message from MS to force people not to use QuickTime and to choose WM Player.

I believe it has never worked on Safari, I believe it didn't 3 maybe 4 years ago.

Then I ditched hotmail since I rent webspace.

    So the question maybe is:

Can this be the way that Apple is fighting back MS's error message which stated that QuickTime for Windows has some errors, which was bullocks.

I get this problem if I try to go straight to Hotmail. You have to go to MSN homepage first then go to Hotmail.

THis has happened to me several times but this extra step solves the problem.
