G5 a bad idea?

Wouldnt a G5 8500 be a 64 bit machine? If so then wouldnt every app have to be recompiled for 64 bit? Just asking.

    It's a simple recompile as Apple says. It's not a big deal. The 64bit G5 is supposed to be backwards compatable so you wont loose any compatability before your software developer does the recompile. It's a totaly painless process.
