$30 Data Plan In Areas With No 3G??

If I live in an area that does not support 3G, how can they justify charging me $30 a month for their data plan? ATT already said in a press release today they will grandfather in current 1.0 iPhone owers and let them keep the $20 data plan. That $10 a month would be a savings of $240 over the life of the contract for me. What are the chances they will honor the lower price if there is no 3G in my area?

Start looking into T-mobile and negotiate hard on a new contract.
