OS X 10.1.4 TiBook 800 Mouse Issues

Hello,



I bought a TiBook 800MHz and I also purchased an accessory Apple Optical mouse so that I didn't always need to use the trackpad. Anyway, I keep having to change the setting in the control panel of OS X for the mouse.



I have to change the setting for the mouse from 3/4 of the bar to 4/4 of the bar for full speed performance. Why would it reset itself?



Any clues?

    A lot of badly written games will forget to set the mouse speed back when they quit. I know Quake III does this, but there are also several others.
