Powerprint substitute or workaround

Does anyone know if a company is working on a substitute for PowerPrint, or if there is a workaround for PowerPrint to get it to work in Mac OS X? Yes, I do realize that I can use PowerPrint in Classic, however, I would rather avoid having to do so. I own a LaserJet 6P printer.
