Time Capsule/Ethernet issues
I'm attempting (for about the tenth time) an initial backup of my Intel iMac to a Time Capsule connected via ethernet.
My Macbook Pro (100gig) took about 7 hours, but my iMac is crawling. After 12 hours it's at 12 gigs and at this rate will take three weeks to finish.
I'm using iStat Menubar to monitor data transfer and while occasionally it gets in to the Mb/s category it's typically in the low hundred Kb/s
This seems remarkably slow. I have nothing else using the network.
Any thoughts on what's causing the slow speed? Wireless was faster than this...

I just tried dragging my iTunes music library, 155GB, onto the Time Capsule and it's happily copying across with an estimate of 4 hours. Transfer speed has gone up to around 90-105Mb/s
So not a problem with the port or the cable, then...
