Will a 2.4GHz/4BG ram w/ a 256 graphics card work?

Im a graphic design major and im looking to buy the new macbook pro. I guess what im trying to ask is; will the ram balance out the graphics card? or should i upgrade to the 512?

    It sounds fine. If you are doing HD video though you should get the 512mb vram 2.5ghz with 4GB RAM and 7200rpm hard disk.
