Flawed 8600GTs

It seems that a very big margin, if not all 8400 and 8600 series NVidia graphics cards are flawed and will fail due to heat.

I guess I'll wait before getting a MBP for college, event if it means forgetting the back to school promo.

    They might have already corrected the issue. Official notices tend to come out late and only after the issue has been verified. They will likely correct it for free if any problems arise. I don't think any issue have been encountered so far but if you get a 3 year warranty, it doesn't matter. The MBP is a good machine, don't miss out on it based on some rumor and possibly non-serious problem. Computers will never be perfect.
