Will TechTool Pro hurt OS X?

I want to defrag and "optimize directory structure" on my OS X/OS 9 iBook (both on one partition.)



Will defragging from TechTool Pro 3.0.6 hurt OS X? I hear it doesn't. Has anyone done this successfully?



I wonder more though, what "Directory Structure Optimization" or whatever is. Will this hurt OS X? Has anyone done this successfully?
