Will OS X Ever Support ARA?

My company has Mac 5 VIP users who need to dial-in to our LAN for mail and files. They can't VPN in this particular situation. Right now I have 5 OS 9 ARA servers (Beige G3s) with external serial USR 56k modems. It is Hell on Earth!

Will OS X ever support dial-up incoming calls from remote modem users?

I really need a robust ARA solution for OS X. ARA s*cks in OS 9 (hangs, freezes, etc). I was hoping Apple would do it right in OS X, but "enable answering" has never been an option in the Network Control Panel thus far.

Are there third-party ARA solutions for OS X? I would love to have a USB or PCI modem bank for OS X!
