The iPhone said, "Cannot send mail. The sender address was invalid"

I had this problem back in (?) July(?); couldn't send email from my iphone (V1), it went away, now with 2.0+ it's back.



Anyone have a neat step-by-step procedure to fix this?

    Is your account set up properly? I ask as I just had a similar problem with Mail on my Mac. I could access and read incoming mail all I wanted. I just could not send mail. It turned out that I had three things wrong with my account settings and I wasn't being properly authenticated. (My ISP recently upgraded its mail system and problems were: The ISP added the mail domain to the login name. In the latest setup instructions SSL was not turned on. I had it on. And the ISP turned on Password authentication.)
