sophos antivirus

Hi,

I was forced to install sophos antivirus for work. It keeps trying to connect to the net, and I don't want it running all the time. I shouldn't uninstall it because of the IT guys, but I want to turn it completely of. How can I do this? even if I tell it to be turned of, it continues to do something. I just want to turn it 100% of and be able to turn it on if I should have a need for it.

I think you can turn off the schedule feature. That effectively numbs out Sophos.
