New MBP loud. Fan? and repair question.

First time poster, long time lurker here. I need some of you pro's help.

I just bought a New MBP 15", it got here yesterday. 2.8GHz, 4GB, 320 7200rpm etc.

I have what sounds like a dying fan, though I am not sure. It sounds like when you stick a piece of paper in a fan, sort of a vibrating noise. I know its not the hard drive because this sound eminates from the left side of the Mac, specifically under the asdw keys, and It does get louder when I am doing intensive stuff.

So I assume its the fan either off balance or dying or something, either way its annoying and it shouldnt be happening on this 2800$ laptop. I am experiencing no symptoms other than its really loud, and is very distracting.

My Noob Question is if I take this into the Apple store will they fix it for me? If so, do they have to take my laptop for weeks on end to get it done? And finally, will it cost me anything?

Thanks all for your help!

They should fix it for free within a couple of hours.

It definitely won't cost you anything, but I wouldn't expect them to crack it open and work on it right there. You might be without it for a couple days, but probably not weeks.

Either way it won't cost anything.
