A simple question

Hi there.

I am a 20 year PC user who just switched to a Mac. In general things are going well, but for the life of me I can't figure out how you are supposed to uninstall software.

I have a copy of Netscape 6 that I would like to remove from my hard drive. What do I do?

On that note, are there any recommended browsers for the Mac? I have IE, but it's much slower on my new powerbook than on my PC that's 2 years old. Netscape 6 is worse.

thanks for your help,

Kimbal

    How do you uninstall software?

    Well, many people have asked this question over time; so, a while back I made a tutorial QuickTime video outlining the process.

    Watch here (it's only 1 MB):

    Simple as that.

    No registry mess, no dlls, no hidden files strewn across your drive. Just drag it to the trash and be done with it.

    Other browsers include <a href="http://chimera.mozdev.org/"; target="_blank">Chimera</a>, <a href="http://www.mozilla.org"; target="_blank">Mozilla</a>, and <a href="http://www.omnigroup.com/applications/omniweb/"; target="_blank">OmniWeb</a>. None of them perform better than PC browsers -- yet. Mac users are currently in the middle of a "browser war" or sorts where no one browser seems to handle *everything* well. Internet Explorer 6 and OmniWeb 5 are both aimed for release early next year and are both expected to perform far better than the current versions. The nightly builds of Mozilla 1.1 are performing very well and, if not for the clunky interface, I'd use it all the time. Chimera is a browser that grafts a clean, simple interface over Mozilla's Gecko browser engine.

    yea OS X just trash it.

    I have very little trouble with IE on my Mac. Maybe sometimes a little sluggish, since I avoid using a PC I guess I don't know the Differance. I like OmniWeb but frankley I stick to IE just easier to use I don't know why, Maybe Im just Lazy, OK I am Lazy!

    Oh I heard that NetScape 7 is out. Maybe try that. Got to be better than 6.

    There's also my favorite browser, iCab. <a href="http://www.icab.de/"; target="_blank">http://www.icab.de/</a>;

    Fast and powerful, though it has some rendering ssues with the occasional page.
