Java Problem

I just got a MacBook. I teach Java programming and want to use the Scanner class for I/O.



I have been using Eclipse (Classic). I tried to get the 1.5 jdk from Apple, but I still cannot use the Scanner.



???????

    Have you installed the Developer Tools? That will install the 1.5 JDK, I'm not positive if the 1.6 is also installed in the newest version or not as I already had it installed.





    Either way, there is a brand spanking new Dev Tools image at ADC site. If you haven't already register for a free dev account and peruse the downloads where the new Xcode Tools is in What's New.



    You can still use your Eclipse, this doesn't force you to use Xcode.
