external drive for G5 Quad

Hi all, I am looking for an external drive, probably 1TB, for heavy gfx motion work. Any suggestions?



(I am familiar with Seagate, Western Digital and Lacie, but am not a specs expert.)

    Usually the cheapest way to get an external drive is to buy the drive and enclosure seperately. The Samsung Spinpoint F1 1tb is an excellent drive and couple that with a firewire capable enclosure.

    I propose:



    LaCie 2big Triple (2-disk RAID)

    FireWire 400 | FireWire 800 | Hi-Speed USB 2.0

    1TB



    You can RAID0 (very fast when used with FW800) or RAID1 (for very high-reliability backups) it if needed.
