Time Machine to an older iMac?
I have recently purchased a "last rev." MacBook Pro and would like to use time machine to backup to my iMac (4 yr old, non-intel, g5, with tiger) or more preferably to an external drive plugged into the iMac.
The iMac is plugged into an older airport extreme base station via ethernet cable.
The MacBook Pro mounts the iMac internal drive and the external plugged into the iMac.
BUT, the MacBook Pro does not see either of the drives when trying to set up time machine.
Is what I am trying to do possible?
do I simply need to change a setting?
