Color Management question

How come the colors change when I copy-and-paste images from, let's say, Photoshop to Keynote?

Or why does Pages change color when exporting a document to PDF? (unless ColorSync does it?)

I'm working on web-only stuff, so I'd like to disable it, does anybody know how to do that?

Thx / M.

Photoshop is setup to use Adobe 1998 color space profile by default as it provides a wider gamut for editing. Web-based stuff uses the sRGB color space. Jumping from one to the other usually makes images come out a lot less saturated.

Apps like Keynote, Safari etc use the display color profiles set in system prefs. To get them to match, you can either change your display profile to match Photoshop's or Photoshop's tp match the display. The easy route is to make them both sRGB so that images without colorspace profile information always come out right but it means your display quality looks a bit rubbish when you are doing anything else like watching movies.
