what's really the big deal with matte vs glossy in MBP previous gen?

I'm about to buy a MBP (previous gen) from either MacMall, MacConnection, or one of the other online sites... and I feel like holding out and grabbing a glossy screen. But I've seen a few people who say matte is the way to go.

Local Apple Auth Reseller doesn't have any glossy in stock to get my hands on. Matte seem decent... but I'm looking for the opinions of some experts on here!

So... Glossy or Matte? Why?

You have to decide for yourself, we have a lot of threads about it already so we won't cover it all again but this thread should provide some info:

It wasn't really a glossy vs matte thread but that's what people were talking about most about the new laptops.

You really have to use for yourself - if you can't, go with matte. It has always been the safer option.
