How can I change IMAC internal HD

Can anyone help with details about installing a !TB or larger internal HD to replace my full 500GB original drive. My IMAC is 24" one year old and full

    With difficulty or by purchasing a new iMac



    I guess an approved tech could do it - at a price.



    Getting an external drive would be the easier option

    I already have to external 1 TB drives but the internal is too full and I want to swap out to 1TB.
