Constant network problems

I have an Airport Extreme and several Airport Expresses ('G' version, not 'N') The Expresses are constantly having to be reset and sometimes it takes several attempts to get them reset properly. This happens all the time. Is this a problem with having the 'G' Expresses with the newer Airport Extreme, or should it be able to work properly? Is there something I should look for in particular about setting up/maintaining/troubleshooting the network? Is there a good resource for step by step instructions/explanations of setting up a network properly??
