I would like to upgrade my current memory 2 gig to 3; my memory specs are

2 GB TypetDDR2 SDRAM Speedt667 MHz

My questions are:

- do I just replace one of the 1 gig with 2?

-Is this memory limitation due to OS or hardware?

-where can I buy the quality memory cheaper that from apple

Is my current memory the following specs or something else?

200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-5300 ? CL=5 ? Unbuffered ? NON-ECC ? DDR2-667 ? 1.8V ? 256Meg x 64

Thx!

I use Crucial.com to buy and configure my memory. They're great IMO and I've used their memory in several Macs and PCs without any problems

You just need any Apple-compatible/Apple-certified (this is important, don't use just any PC RAM) eg. from Apple, OWC (http://www.macsales.com), Crucial, Kingston. DDR2-667.

To be very safe, best you don't mix a 1GB and 2GB*, you should get two 2GB sticks of DDR2-667 for a total of 4GB.

If you are looking to upgrade your memory and get your investment's worth, this is the approach I would recommend.

*This is a point of much debate in Mac circles, but I would say always best to go with "matched pairs".
