Jerky iphone photo app library scrolling w/OS 2.2.1

After I updated my 1st gen iphone (8 gig) with OS 2.2.1, I noticed jerky scrolling through my photo app library. I've got 583 MB of free space currently left on the phone. Anybody else experience the same?
