trouble with a Visual Basic database

Second problem here on the job.

Was given a compiled Visual Basic database for Win 200/XP of review questions with images and audio that match. This little app is one that needs to run on the Mac.

Developer is out of the picture.

How can I get the data out? It includes sound, text, images.

An extra for Director is not yet available to alow the existing database run within Director.

Ideas?

Thanks,

Michelangela

You do understand that you are asking a programming question in an OS section of this forum?

The next thing that you need to understand that one the answer to your question requires knowledge the structure of your database. Without access to your Visual BASIC program, the database, or both, anything said is just a wild @$$ guess.

You might be better served by installing the VB app on a Windows machine and using that to extract your media elements from the database. If you want to use a database to control access to your media, then you might look into FileMaker Bento. It allows the construction of nice databases without programming.
