Yup, along with disabling the L2 and/or L3 cache. Hmm, disabling both really slows down everything, especially UI responsiveness!

    Umm. So, is this an actually released version, or a beta?

    Also, what does the SharePoints preferencePane do?

    Hmmm... I've always wondered how much difference my 2MB L2 cache made. You're right, Eugene, the interface is a bit slower without it! I've always wondered, how much a difference does the L3 cache make since the L2 is so much smaller on the new Macs?

    [quote]Also, what does the SharePoints preferencePane do?

It's a third-party tool for setting permissions for sharing specific folders on your computer.

    Where do you get it because I want it! (Not like I'd DO anything with it, but it'd be nice to have...)

    I got it by searching for it on Google. First hit.

    CHUD Tools are available here:

    <a href="ftp://ftp.apple.com/developer/Tool_Chest/Testing_-_Debugging/Performance_tools/"; target="_blank">ftp://ftp.apple.com/developer/Tool_Chest/Testing_-_Debugging/Performance_tools/;

    Also, CHUD Tools up through 2.0b14 was capable of OC'ing the iBooks.

    I can see how that has some uses...

    if you're developing software and want to see how it runs on machines with less or no L3 cache or on single processor machines, or to see what the benefit is of the second processor.

    Kinda neat.

    I'm disappointed; the BeOS Pulse tool used to let you turn off both CPUs.
