Real-world font identification with the iPhone

It is a special moment in one's life when they look at a piece of writing and say to themselves "What Font is that?". For people who have this moment more often, WhatTheFont (Free, App Store) should be a very useful tool indeed.

The premise of the app is simple: take a photo of the font in question, and the image will be beamed to MyFonts' WhatTheFont? system, which will crunch those pixels and then identify the font in use, laying out all the possible results in a neat list for you.

You can then view details on the font in MobileSafari or email the link for it to yourself, and it's really that simple. Free, useful and quick - what more could one ask for?
