mac netbook = OLPC 2

Ok, usually I try to be diplomatic about this, but I'm gonna step out and say that Apple would just be batF**king insane not to embrace/extend the OLPC 2 model IF they do a netbook.

I can't think of even one good argument against it.

The usual-

1. Jobs hates tablets. **iphone/touch**

2. Can't make a good cheap computer. **again, iphone/touch**

3. Real computers have keyboards **double ditto, and netbook keyboards suck anyway**

4. Netbooks aren't a real market. **exsqueeze me? Baking powder?**

And then the FOR arguments-

1. Apple supposedly offered to port OS X to the OLPC 1.

2. Expand the App store market

3. Compete with/destroy Nintendo DS

4. Compete with kindle

5. Capitalize on multitouch patents

6. How much software/hardware engineering are we really talking here?

Sometimes Apple surprises the hell out of us by going in some totally unique direction that turns out to be the new thing, but someone at their R&D department should just yell, RUFKM!
