Boot Drive Mac Pro 2009 prep

Does anyone know if it is possible to "prep" the boot drive for a 2009 mac pro?



I am looking to save time for when the system comes in. I was wondering if I could simply add a raptor as an external drive to my macbook and do an os install on it and set it up the way I want so I can simply dump it into the mac pro when it arrives.



If not, any suggestions besides the obvious of installing the raptor when the mac comes in and doing all the work at that point in time

    I guess you could try but you need to make sure you install ALL the updates including 10.5.6 or 10.5.7 - due out soon it looks like.



    If not, do an archive & install when you get the pro with the new dvd, it should keep all your settings & installed apps!
