Startup fails, blue screen, on updated OS 10.4 but console works
Hi,
I updated 10.4.11 with security update 2009-001 and after restart my iMac G5 would not launch Mac OS X but instead the blue screen appears.
Looking into the web for trouble shooting I found some suggestions to start in safe mode. Trying the safe mode startup holding down the shift key did not work but instead got me to the Darwin console. There all files seem to be ok, but with only limited unix-experience I could not figure out what logs to check or tests to perform or how to actually get to the safe mode.
My conclusion is that something changed in how I get into OS X and that I probably have to reset something. Is it possible to undo the last update?
Any help would be very appriciated!
