Apple updates iPhone Remote with iTunes 8.1 support
Apple on Wednesday quietly updated Remote (Free, App Store) to give the iPhone app support for the company's impending iTunes 8.1 release.
What features of 8.1 need the Remote update aren't specified, though the iTunes revision will add movies and TV shows to the Genius engine; at present, Remote users can only create and edit Genius playlists for music on the Apple TV.
The upgrade also addresses multiple unspecified bug fixes for the mobile software, which continues to support the iPod touch.
