iphone no contract no commit pricing?
Hi,
I want to get an iphone without committed to a two year contract. We're living in the US, but about the move to the UK and I'd like to use it over there.
I saw this note on the bottom of one of the appleinsider posts:
No-contract, no-commit pricing:
* 8GB iPhone 3G (black) will cost $299.00 and 16GB (black or white) $349 while supplies last.
* 16GB iPhone 3G S (black or white) will cost $599.00.
* 32GB iPhone 3G S (black or white) will cost $699.00.

I have friends who are ATT customers who would be able to come with me and purchase the phone from a store (I understand that you have to be an existing ATT customer). Would they need to take our the additional service charge for internet? Is this something they can cancel right away and then give the phone to me (and just continue using their old phone).
Could anyone tell me how to get these no contract phones?
