Rumor: iPhone Software 2.2 coming next week

The Greek-language iPhone Hellas blog is reporting that Apple plans to release the next software update for the iPhone, iPhone Software 2.2, next Friday, November 21st.



No further details are provided, though the website recites an expected feature list on par with previous expectations. Among those features are:



Safari interface tweaks with relocated Google search

New App Store app with new categories interface, and "report a problem" feature

Auto-correction toggle and Japanese Emoji icons

Google Street View, transit and walking directions

Direct podcast downloads

    How about Safari being able to go more than five minutes without crashing? Come on Apple throw me a friggin bone.

    My Safari rarely crashes. Of course, it's not like I am using it to surf constantly, so maybe you just use yours more than me. I would say I use it for about 10-15 minutes per day during the week, and then maybe 20 minutes per day on the weekend, on average. If your phone is jailbroken, then maybe something is going wrong on that front. I also don't have very many apps installed. I have about 8 I think. They also rarely crash during use. Who knows, maybe you have some software corruption.
